Jerusalem, 18 October, 2016 (TPS) -- Just one day before the UNESCO executive board was set to close proceedings regarding its controversial resolution denying any Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and Western Wall, Mexico took issue with the section of the resolution that refers to Jerusalem’s holy sites only by its Islamic names only and has changed its position on the resolution. Although discussions on the resolution were reopened, a majority of countries passed the Arab-backed resolution on Tuesday. The resolution ignores Jewish and Christian ties to Jerusalem’s holy sites.
