Jerusalem, 17 April, 2016 (TPS) -- Deputy Defense Minister, Eli Ben-Dahan (Jewish Home), accused the United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of “rewriting history” in its resolution this past week that condemned Israel’s policies on the Temple Mount.

“This is a slim and unsuccessful attempt to rewrite history,” said Minister Ben-Dahan. “UNESCO is trying to evade the simple historical truth, that the Jewish people have an inextricable link with the Temple Mount.”

The resolution, referring to the Temple Mount only according to its Islamic name of “Al-Haram Al-Sharif,” specifically condemned Israel’s alleged intrusion on the freedom of Muslims to worship on the Temple Mount. Meanwhile, Jews continue to be prevented from praying at all on the Temple Mount.
