Jerusalem, 8 May, 2016 (TPS) -- Prime Minister Netanyahu charged IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan for having made “infuriating” and “baseless” remarks that “caused injustice to Israeli society” and “cheapened the Holocaust.” at the annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem Holocaust museum this past Wednesday evening.

During his address at the ceremony, Golan said that “it’s scary to see horrifying developments that took place in Europe begin to unfold here…If there is one thing that is scary in remembering the Holocaust, it is noticing horrific processes which developed in Europe – particularly in Germany – 70, 80, and 90 years ago, and finding remnants of that here among us in the year 2016.”
