Jerusalem, 2 May, 2016 (TPS) -- The Jerusalem Police announced on Monday evening that a new gate will be opened for people and vehicles to pass between Jerusalem and Ramallah, alleviating some of the pressure from the Qalandiya Crossing.

The Dahiat al-Barid gate will be opened every day between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., and if the step succeeds the hours may be extended. The gate is one of the entries to Ramallah and to the A-Ram neighborhood, and the police estimate it could be used by thousands of vehicles.

The police added that a new shopping center was recently opened in A-Ram, and that the new step could significantly develop the area and create thousands of jobs for the residents.
