Dead Sea Oil Reservoir Worth More Than NIS 1 Billion, New Estimate Says

Jerusalem, 1 May, 2016 (TPS) -- An oil deposit at Israel’s Dead Sea is estimated to be worth approximately NIS 1.2 billion, according to a new appraisal by the Australian-based Dunmore Consulting firm. The estimate was released on Sunday by the Israel Opportunity energy company, which has a 25% stake in the reservoir.

The amount of oil in the “Hatrurim” reservoir is estimated to be between 7-11 million barrels.
