Palestinian Report: Palestinian-American man convicted for selling property to Jews

Jerusalem, 31 December, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- Issam Akel – a Palestinian with dual American citizenship was convicted in a Ramallah court on the charge of selling property in Jerusalem to Jewish organizations, Palestinian Ma’an news agency reported on Monday. Selling Palestinian property to Israel is a criminal offense in the Palestinian Authority, with a maximum punishment of life in prison or even execution. Akel was convicted after two months in Palestinian custody, after being arrested in Ramallah in October. Both Israeli and American organizations have called for his immediate release.
