Jerusalem, 12 September, 2018 (TPS) -- A 21-year-old Palestinian from Hebron has been sentenced to 35 years in prisonĀ on two counts of attempted murder.

Ayman Kurd stabbed two police officers during an attack at Herod’s Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem in September 2016, maiming one of the officers – a mother of two – for life after he severed her spinal cord.

A second police officer was also wounded in the attack.

The court also ordered Kurd to pay NIS 258,000 to female officer and NIS 70,000 to the second officer.

Kurd admittedĀ that the attack was done out of revenge for the killing of a relative who was killed while he too was committing a stabbing.
