Jerusalem, 23 March, 2016 (TPS) -- Jerusalem (TPS) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an impromptu press conference, addressing the local and global wave of terrorist attacks, in the wake of the Brussels  and Istanbul bombings and the ongoing attacks all over Israel.

The press conference was announced a mere two hours before being held and Netanyahu allowed time for questions from the press at the end of his opening address. This is the first time since the 2015 elections that Prime Minister Netanyahu held an open press conference allowing the press to present questions which were not pre-approved.

“Terrorism is not the result of frustration and disenfranchisement, it is the result of murderous ideologies. It doesn’t stem from desperation but from hope, a hope to establish an Islamic Caliphate in Europe and a hope to establish a Palestinian state instead of Israel,” said Netanyahu.
