Jerusalem, 9 October, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- Egypt’s Chief of Intelligence Abbas Kamel is set to visit Tel Aviv and Ramallah in order to meet with Israeli and Palestinian officials and discuss the inner-Palestinian reconciliation efforts between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, the London based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news website reported on Tuesday.
According to Egyptian sources, Kamel plans to convey a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, by which, should the latter fail to cooperate with the Egyptian-mediated reconciliation efforts, Egypt will officially recognize Hamas as the sovereign power in the Gaza Strip.
