Report: Liberman Met Qatari FM For Talks On Gaza

Jerusalem, 22 August, 2018 (TPS) -- Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman met with the Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in Cyprus in June to discuss possible plans to rehabilitate to Gaza Strip, Walla News reported Wednesday.

The meeting was kept secret until now. Last week, Channel 10 News reported that Liberman travelled to Cyprus in order to meet with Qatar’s mediator to Gaza, Muhammad al-Amadi, however pointing out that al-Amadi frequently travels to Israel, and that Liberman’s trip to Cyprus was most likely in order to meet with someone much higher up. According to reports, Qatar is set to be instrumental in the rehabilitation of Gaza, offering to partially finance the efforts and establish sea and airports in Cyprus to be used for Gaza.
