Jerusalem, 6 June, 2019 (TPS) -- Israeli security forces on Thursday thwarted an apparent attempt by two Arabs to infiltrate the community of Neriya in Samaria.

At approximately 08:00, the two suspects were identified as they entered in an area near the community designated as a “special security zone.”

Civilian response teams launched a search and detained the two until the IDF’s arrival.

A preliminary investigation showed that the two were known Hamas activists who had previously been jailed by Israel for terrorism-related offenses.

The two were detained for further investigation, and their vehicle, which was hidden away from the area, was confiscated.

The two were not armed, and the background to their attempted infiltration is being examined by the security forces.
