Shooting Attack in Hizma near Jerusalem; Two Injured, Attacker Killed

Jerusalem, 3 December, 2015 (TPS) -- An Israeli man suffering light wounds arrived shortly after 11:00 AM at the Hizma checkpost, northeast of Jerusalem.

The attack occurred at a roadblock at the entrance to the nearby Palestinian village of Hizma, when a driver stopped for an inspection. While an IDF soldier was inspecting the vehicle the man got out of his car with a pistol and fired shots the soldiers, and was subsequently shot and killed. He was identified by Palestinian sources as Mazen Hasan Ariba from Abu Dis, a PA security officer.

An Israeli soldier was very lightly wounded in the attack. An Israeli Arab man, aged about 47, was seriously wounded from the terrorist’s gunshots and was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem.
