Stabbing Attack Prevented in Jerusalem, Palestinian Suspect Arrested

Jerusalem, 18 January, 2016 (TPS) -- An 18-year-old Palestinian from the Arab neighborhood of Shuafat was arrested on Monday afternoon after walking towards Israeli policemen while brandishing a knife.

Police detectives were searching in the area of Shuafat for perpetrators of rock-throwing attacks directed at Jerusalem’s light-rail. They were inspecting two suspects when they noticed another man moving towards them with a knife in his hand.

The detectives closed in on him and captured him after he tried to escape. He was arrested and taken for questioning. The knife was taken by the policemen and there were no casualties in the incident.
