Stabbing Attempt at Entrance to Israeli Embassy in Turkey; Assailant Shot and Wounded

Jerusalem, 21 September, 2016 (TPS) -- Developing Story: A stabbing attack was attempted at the entrance to the Israeli embassy in Ankara, Turkey, according to local media. According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, two men attempted to break into the embassy and attacked an officer with a knife. Security forces shot one of the assailants in his leg, lightly wounding him.

Turkish Police said that the attacker had shouted “Allahu Akbar” (‘God is great’ in Arabic) during the attack.
