It’s ‘us or them’ says Tel Aviv Likud campaign for city council
Jerusalem, 4 October, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- Residents of Tel Aviv woke Thursday to find their city plastered with ads for a controversial campaign being waged by the Likud party’s list for the upcoming municipal elections taking place October 30
The campaign, titled “Us or Them”, portrayed Tel Aviv as being in the midst of a clash of civilizations between its Jewish population and the Arab citizens in Jaffa as well as the African migrant communities of South Tel Aviv.
In one campaign ad, an Israeli flag is portrayed on one side, and an islamist holding a Palestinian flag on the other. “It’s us or them,” the add stated, “The Hebrew City or the Islamic Movement in Jaffa,” it added.
Another such add showed the Israeli flag opposite a demonstration by African migrants, with the slogan reading: “It’s us or them – the Hebrew City or the infiltrator city.”
