Kiryat Shmona
An overturned sukkah, or booth, in the mostly-abandoned northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona on April 4, 2024. More than 85% of the city's 24,000 residents were forced to evacuate as Hezbollah fired rockets at northern Israel following Hamas's October 7 attack. The attack took place during the holiday of Simchat Torah, before residents had time to take down their sukkot.
