WWII Jewish Brigade gets Italian medal of valor

Over 70 years after the end of the Second World War, the Italian government finally awarded the Jewish Brigade the country's highest military honor, the Gold Medal For Military Valor, for its contribution to the the liberation of Italy from German occupation, at a ceremony held at the Jewish Legion Museum at Moshav Avihail, near Netanya. Some 5,000 Jews from Mandatory Palestine fought in the Jewish Brigade as part of the British Army.
