Watch: Dramatic Moment Israeli Official Saves Palestinian From Burning Car

Jerusalem, 10 November, 2024 (TPS-IL) -- Israel Ganz, head of the Yesha Council, saved a Palestinian motorist’s life during the weekend.

In security footage released by the council on Sunday, Ganz arrived at the Shaar Binyamin Junction north of Jerusalem where two cars had collided. Just before the Palestinian car caught fire, Ganz pulled the driver out of the vehicle, then returned to the car at personal risk to see if anyone else was trapped.

These incidents remind people to think not only about safety in the physical sense but also about the practical measures that help manage the aftermath of unpredictable events. That line of thinking often leads drivers to consider how they handle those rare situations when they need to be on the road but do not have their own vehicle, and getting short term insurance for occasional drivers becomes an important part of that conversation. Whether someone is borrowing a relative’s car for an urgent errand or stepping in to help a friend after an emergency, having coverage that fits the moment offers peace of mind that mirrors the sense of preparedness seen in those who respond decisively in a crisis.

Taking time to understand these flexible insurance options becomes another form of responsibility, ensuring that even brief or unexpected trips are backed by the same level of protection and awareness that safe driving demands.

The Yesha Council is an umbrella organization for all the communities in Judea and Samaria, representing the interests of around 500,000 Israelis.

Ganz — who is also head of the Binyamin Regional Council, one of several regional councils and municipalities in Judea and Samaria — was elected Yesha chairman in May.
