Three soldiers were killed and 12 more injured in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza when the terrorists fired anti-tank rockets at a lightly-armored truck transporting soldiers on their way out of Gaza for a furlough.

The fallen soldiers were identified as Staff Sgt. Ido Zano, 20; Staff Sgt. Barak Daniel Halpern, 19; and Sgt. Omri Cohen, 19. All three served in the Givati Brigade.

Israel has been combating Hamas efforts to regroup in northern Gaza since September. The IDF estimates it has killed 1,750 terrorists in the areas of Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun and Jabaliya in that time.

At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 97 remaining hostages, more than 30 have been declared dead. Hamas has also been holding captive two Israeli civilians since 2014 and 2015, and the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
