Jerusalem, 15 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Croatia’s consul in Israel and his wife were lightly injured when their building in Tel Aviv was struck during an Iranian missile barrage between Friday and early Saturday, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman said.

“I am shaken by the news that our consul and his wife were injured in the attack,” Grlić Radman tweeted, adding that their injuries are minor and not life-threatening.

Grlić Radman said the Croatian embassy remains in contact with Zagreb and that steps are being taken to ensure staff safety. “We strongly condemn attacks on civilians and diplomatic facilities,” he added, urging “immediate de-escalation and restraint.”

Israeli rescue workers across were still racing to find survivors after a night of missile strikes from Iran. Ten people were killed and 250 were injured during the overnight barrage.

Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iranian nuclear sites on Friday, citing intelligence that Tehran had reached “a point of no return” in its pursuit of nuclear weapons. According to Israeli defense officials, Iran has developed the capacity to rapidly enrich uranium and assemble nuclear bombs, with sufficient fissile material for up to 15 weapons.

Israeli intelligence also exposed a covert program to complete all components of a nuclear device. The strikes mark a dramatic escalation in what officials describe as a broader Iranian strategy combining nuclear development, missile proliferation, and proxy warfare aimed at Israel’s destruction.
