Jerusalem, 4 November, 2023 (TPS) -- Hamas terror squads attacked Israeli forces working to open up a humanitarian corridor for Palestinians trying to flee from the northern to southern Gaza on Saturday, the Israeli Defense Forces said on Saturday evening.

The attack came after IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee announced that the Salah a-Din Road, Gaza’s main thoroughfare, would be open for evacuating Palestinians.

The IDF said Hamas “exploited the humanitarian window,” and “terrorists fired mortars and anti-tank missiles at IDF troops who arrived and operated to open the route.”

The IDF added that no Israelis were injured.

Hamas has blocked roads and even fired on Palestinians trying to flee. Hamas is forcing thousands of Gazans to become human shields around the terror group’s headquarters.
