Hamas Rocket Commander Killed in Airstrike

Jerusalem, 4 August, 2024 (TPS) -- A Hamas terrorist responsible for rocket fire at Israel was killed in an airstrike in the central Gaza area of Nuseirat, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Sunday morning.

According to the army, Ismail Nofal also personally participated in the October 7 attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border. The airstrike that killed Nofal took place several days ago, the IDF said.

Meanwhile, an Israeli airstrike in Deir al-Balah in northern Gaza killed a Hamas operative during the last day. The army noted that the strike triggered secondary explosions, indicating the presence of other weaponry.

In central Gaza, Israeli aircraft eliminated several armed Hamas squads and troops dismantled a Hamas weapons storage facility.

Other Hamas infrastructure was dismantled in the Rafah area.

During the past 24 hours, Israeli aircraft struck approximately 50 Hamas targets throughout Gaza, including armed squads, military structures, observation posts, and other terror infrastructure.

At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 115 remaining hostages, 39 have been declared dead. Hamas has also been holding captive two Israeli civilians since 2014 and 2015, and the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
