Jerusalem, 28 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Israeli forces continued operations in the Gaza Strip, targeting terrorist infrastructure and operatives across multiple fronts, the Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday. Airstrikes hit around 140 targets in the past 24 hours, including weapons storage sites, command structures, and operatives from various terrorist organizations.

In Gaza City, troops identified five terrorists who fired anti-tank missiles from a building at a patrol. No Israeli casualties were reported. In coordination with ground forces and the brigade’s firepower unit, the Israel Air Force (IAF) struck the site, eliminating the cell in what the IDF described as a rapid “closing of the circle.”

Elsewhere in Gaza City, soldiers expanded Israel’s operational control, destroying Hamas infrastructure and fighting centers with Air Force support.

In the southern Gaza Strip, troops eliminated several terrorists and targeted observation posts and military facilities.

Approximately 1,200 people were killed and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 48 remaining hostages, about 20 are believed to be alive.
