Israel Strikes Hamas Assets in Rafah, Khan Yunis

Jerusalem, 21 August, 2024 (TPS) -- Israeli soldiers continued operations against Hamas in the southern Gaza city of Rafah over the last day, the Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday.

Soldiers eliminated dozens of armed terrorists, dismantled Hamas infrastructure, and uncovered large quantities of weapons, including explosives, grenades, AK-47 rifles, and more.

Meanwhile, in Khan Yunis, soldiers killed dozens of terrorists in raids on Hamas compounds in the southern Gaza city. In cooperation with the Air Force, troops eliminated several terrorists who were operating in an area from which numerous rockets were launched at southern Israeli communities.

In central Gaza, Israeli forces struck structures used by Hamas to launch attacks against soldiers.

Over the past day, the Air Force struck approximately 30 Hamas targets across Gaza, including squads, rocket launching sites, tunnel shafts, an observation post, and other assets.

At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 105 remaining hostages, more than 30 have been declared dead. Hamas has also been holding captive two Israeli civilians since 2014 and 2015, and the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
