Jerusalem, 22 October, 2023 (TPS) -- An Israeli military aircraft struck an “underground terror route” at a mosque in the Jenin refugee camp overnight, killing members of a Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror cell planning an “imminent terror attack,” the Israeli Defense Forces announced in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The IDF said the cell was using the Al-Ansar mosque as an operations room to plan and carry out attacks, including an October 14 attack in which a bomb exploded near Israeli soldiers operating near the security barrier in northern Samaria. No soldiers were hurt in the blast.

During a two-day incursion in the Jenin refugee camp in July, Israeli forces discovered a tunnel shaft, weapons and military gear in the Al-Ansar mosque.
