Israeli Ambassador to Leave Poland
Jerusalem, 4 February, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- (PAP) – The spokesperson of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed a report by a Polish daily according to which the Israeli ambassador will end his diplomatic mission to Poland.
Oren Marmorstein told PAP on Monday that Ambassador Jakov Livne would leave Poland and would assume the post of deputy head of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
According to the Rzeczpospolita daily, until a new ambassador is appointed, the duties of the charge d’affaires will be taken over by Bosmat Baruch, who is currently the head of public diplomacy at the Israeli embassy in Warsaw.
The daily, citing its own source, reported that the decision to change the ambassador had been taken “as a matter of urgency” by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
Yacov Livne assumed the post of Israeli ambassador to Poland in July 2022.
