Israeli Army’s 98th Division Completes Operations in Khan Yunis
Jerusalem, 30 July, 2024 (TPS) -- The Israel Defense Forces said on Tuesday its 98th Division completed operational activities in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis.
During the past week, the division eliminated 150 terrorists, dismantled tunnels and weapon storage facilities, and seized weapons. The division also participated in the recovery of the bodies of five hostages from a tunnel below the city.
Meanwhile, an Israeli airstrike killed Ibrahim Hegazi, who was responsible for anti-tank missiles in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion. Hegazi planned and directed numerous attacks against troops and was the terror group’s central source of knowledge on anti-tank missiles.
In Rafah’s Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, soldiers eliminated several armed terrorists who posed a threat.
Israeli forces also conducted raids, eliminated Hamas terrorists and dismantled infrastructure in central Gaza.
At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 115 remaining hostages, 39 have been declared dead. Hamas has also been holding captive two Israeli civilians since 2014 and 2015, and the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
