Jerusalem, 21 December, 2023 (TPS) -- Israeli military forces struck 230 Hamas targets in Gaza over the last 24 hours and discovered a large number of weapons hidden inside a school, the Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday morning.

As part of the ground activity, reserve fighters in the Jabaliya area of northern Gaza found large numbers of weapons inside a school complex.

In the Al-Shati area of northern Gaza, soldiers directed an airstrike that eliminated terrorists inside a building.

In the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis, an Air Force fighter jet destroyed a building where terrorists had posed a threat to Israeli forces. Later, Israeli forces identified and destroyed a launcher that contained rockets aimed at the territory of the country.

In a night operation, the Israeli Navy attacked vessels intended for use by Hamas’s naval forces.

At least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on Oct. 7. The number of men, women, children, soldiers and foreigners held captive in Gaza by Hamas is now believed to be 129. Other people remain unaccounted for as Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains.
