Jerusalem, 4 March, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Israeli lawmaker Limor Son Har-Melech disclosed on Tuesday that one of the Palestinian terrorists involved in her husband’s murder was freed from prison as part of the ceasefire with Hamas.

“This morning I woke up to the news that the terrorist who murdered my husband was released in a deal – no one told us about it,” the Otzma Yehudit lawmaker said to the families of hostages who came to a meeting of the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.

Son Har-Melech’s husband, Shuli, was killed in a drive-by shooting by five Palestinians near Ramallah in August 2003. Limor, who was seven months pregnant, was in critical condition. Doctors delivered a baby girl by caesarean section.

Fath’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack.

Son Har-Melech did not specify which of the terrorists was freed or when the release happened.

Israel has freed 1,778 imprisoned Palestinian terrorists in exchange for 33 hostages since a ceasefire went into effect on Jan. 19.

At least 1,180 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 59 remaining hostages, 36 are believed to be dead.
