Repatriation of Croats From Gaza Underway

The process of repatriating 22 of the 23 Croatian citizens who asked to leave the Gaza Strip has begun, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said today, quoted by the Hina agency.

“22 of the 23 Croatian citizens who asked to leave the Gaza Strip were able to do so,” Plenkovic told journalists.

Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Gurlic Radman said yesterday that one Croatian citizen had been reported dead in Gaza, but added that the information had not yet been confirmed. Plenkovic said today that there is still no certain information and it has not been established whether there is indeed one dead Croat in Gaza.

Some of the 22 Croatian citizens who were evacuated to Cairo, Egypt are arriving in Croatia today.

Plenkovic thanked the Croatian embassies in Israel , Egypt and Qatar for their assistance, as well as the emir of Qatar for his “constructive role” in this process.
