TPS-IL and KosovaPress Sign Content-Sharing Agreement
Jerusalem, 12 May, 2024 (TPS) -- The Press Service of Israel and Kosova Press signed a memorandum of understanding in Jerusalem and Pristina on Sunday to share content.
The Kosova Press is an independent news service that has existed since 1999 publishes in Albanian and English for the vast majority of Kosovar media. The Jerusalem-based TPS-IL is the only Israeli wire service.
“I am happy and excited about this agreement between the countries. The agreement promises a more in-depth acquaintance between the countries, especially in light of the normalization signed in 2020. I am sure that the cooperation between TPS-IL and other news agencies in the Balkans will allow our close neighbors to better understand and accept the real story happening in Israel,” said TPS-IL founder and CEO Amotz Eyal.
“The content-sharing agreement represents a strengthening of trust while expressing support for Israeli media and the need to receive reliable information from Israel directly to a major communication provider in Europe, without filters,” Eyal added.
Israel and Kosovo, a Muslim-majority Balkan state, normalized relations in 2020. Bilateral relations center on culture, education, science, and film.
Around 50 Jews live in Kosovo, mostly in the cities of Pristina and Prizren.
TPS-IL has cooperation agreements and similar content with news agency services around the world, including the United Arab Emirates, India, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. In the last year, additional agreements were signed with news services in Russia, Kazakhstan, Albania, the Philippines and the Czech Republic.
