Netanyahu Speaks with Putin

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday spoke by telephone with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two leaders “agreed to hold a working meeting in Russia in the near future and also discussed regional developments,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.

Netanyahu also congratulated Putin on Russia’s Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Netanyahu was slated to travel to Moscow to meet Putin in person, but postponed the trip and stayed in Israel to monitor the efforts to consolidate the political right.

 

Suspected Terrorist Caught on Way to Attack in Educational Institution

Security forces on Thursday captured an Arab armed with a knife near the community of Maale Efraim, situated just above the Jordan Valley.

He is suspected of having attempted to infiltrate an educational institution in the community with the intent of carrying out a terror attack.

After being spotted by Israeli security forces, the would-be-terrorist fled the scene but was caught carrying a knife.

He was transferred to the police for questioning.

Critically Wounded IDF Soldier Exits ICU

Netanel Felber, an IDF soldier who was critically wounded in a terrorist attack at the Givat Assaf Junction in December, has been released from the Intensive Care Unit at Hadassah Hospital.

“Great news! After over two months of Nathaniel being in the ICU he has finally been released to the regular ward!” his sister Adina said on Facebook on Wednesday night.

Felber was wounded on Dec. 13 in a shooting attack in which Staff Sergeant Yuval Mor Yosef, 20, and Staff Sergeant Yosef Cohen, 19 were killed.

The terrorist Asim Barghouti has been captured.

IDF Strikes Hamas Target in Response to Arson Balloons

An IDF aircraft on Wednesday night struck a Hamas military post in the Gaza Strip in response to balloons with explosives attached to them launched by Gazans towards Israel.

No Israelis were injured by the explosive charges and no damage was caused.

After several weeks of quiet, Gazan terrorists have returned to launching arson balloons towards Israel.

Police Arrest Relatives Suspected in Mysterious Murder of Jerusalem Couple

Two suspects in the murder of Tamar and Yehuda Kaduri, a husband and his wife who are relatives of the victims, were arrested and their remand was extended by the Jerusalem District Court.

The husband is suspected of murder and his remand was extended by eight days, while the wife, who is suspected of conspiracy and of obstruction of justice, was ordered held for another six days.

Two other family members were interrogated and released.

Tamar and Yehuda Kaduri were found dead in their Armon Hanatziv apartment on January 14 with significant signs of violence and stab wounds on their bodies.
