Soldier killed in Route 60 shooting named

A soldier killed in Thursday morning’s shooting on Route 60 has been named as Staff Seargeant Yuval Moryossef, 20, from Ashkelon. Another soldier was killed, while a third suffered critical injuries and a civilian also suffered severe wounds when a Palestinian terrorist got out of car by a hitchhiking station, opened fire and fled.

 

Soldier injured in attempted ramming attack in El Bireh, north of Jerusalem

An IDF soldier was lightly wounded on Thursday afternoon in an attempted ramming attack close to the Palestinian city of El Bireh, north of Jerusalem.

The terrorist was shot and killed by Israeli forces.

In a statement the IDF said: “A terrorist tried to run over IDF soldiers in El Bireh in the Binyamin Regional Council. Security forces responded by firing and neutralizing the terrorist.”

The area of the attack is in the Binyamin Regional Council close to where the Ofra terrorist attack on Sunday and the Givat Asaf terrorist earlier on Thursday took place.

Abu Mazen’s PLO faction praises “martyrs” of Ofra and Barkan attacks

The Palestinian Liberation Organization issued a statement on its official twitter account Thursday praising the “heroic martyrs” who carried out the Barkan and Ofra terrorist attacks. The perpetrators of both attacks were killed by Border Police counter terrorism and IDF units in separate incidents Wednesday night and in the early hours of Thursday morning. The PLO is  headed by Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

Four seriously injured as terrorist opens fire on Route 60

At least four people have been seriously injured in a shooting attack on Route 60 near Giv’at Asaf, which is located close to the settlement of Beit El in Judea.

IDF and paramedics are on scene.

PM Netanyahu commends IDF, Shin Bet for ‘elimination’ of Ofra terrorist

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday morning commended the Shin Bet, the IDF and its Special Forces “for their impressive actions that led to the identification and elimination of the terrorist who was involved in the attack in Ofra.

“Israel’s long hand will reach anyone who harms its citizens,” he said.
