Attempted stabbing attack thwarted near Hebron

A Palestinian was shot at a gas station near Hebron on Monday, after reportedly trying to carry out a stabbing attack.

According to the IDF,  the attempted stabbing attack took place at the Elias intersection, at the entrance to Kiryat Arba in southern Judea.

“An IDF soldier thwarted an attempted stabbing attack after identifying a terrorist who was trying to stab civilians and an IDF officer,” the IDF said in a statement. “The soldier responded by firing and neutralizing the terrorist, who was evacuated by ambulance to hospital for medical treatment.”

No Israeli troops or civilians were injured in the attempted attack.

Israeli security forces the Palestinian Authority Jerusalem Governorate office in al-Ram, just north of Jerusalem on Sunday morning, sparking light clashes in the area. According to Palestinian reports, computers and documents were confiscated.

Bennett: Liberman has destroyed Israel’s deterrence

The Jewish Home is to table legislation that would allow security forces to expel the families of Palestinian terrorists from their homes and move them internally within Judea and Samaria, party leader Naftali Bennett said Sunday.  

Bennett said the legislation would compensate for Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s “destruction of Israel’s deterrence.”

“What Liberman isn’t willing to do from the Defense Ministry, we will do today through legislation,” Bennett tweeted. “Over the past two years, Liberman has destroyed the Israel’s deterrence. Terrorists are not afraid. They know their homes will not be destroyed, that their families will receive NIS 12,000 a month, and that they will be glorified as martyrs.”

Security forces arrest three overnight

Security forces arrested 3 Palestinians suspected of being involved in terrorist activities on Saturday night. According to the IDF, one of those arrested is responsible for throwing a molotov cocktail at IDF forces during a riot last week.

Palestinian cellular provider Paltel to receive infrastructure upgrade

The Israeli Civil Administration has allowed for the entrance of equipment aimed at improving the infrastructure of the Palestinian cellular provider Paltel throughout Judea and Samaria. In recent months, the Civil Administration has been working to improve the reach of the cellular networks, allowing for the entrance of electronic cards aimed at improving the network’s reach and allowing for 3G connectivity.

Israel has previously prevented the implementation of 3G cellular networks in Palestinian cities, but since January, it has began allowing it.
