David Keyes taking leave of absence to ‘clear his name’

14 September, 2018   |   6 years ago

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s foreign spokesman David Keyes is “taking time off to clear his name.”

The decision comes after at least 12 women came forward earlier this week accusing Keyes of sexual harassment.

The women allege that Keyes made overly aggressive advances and that there were incidents of inappropriate behavior, including one detailed accusation of physically aggressive behavior by foreign spokesman.

In a statement on Thursday night, Keyes said: “In light of the false and misleading accusations against me and in order not to distract from the important work of the prime minister, I have asked to take time off to clear my name.”

The Prime Minister’s Office is said to have accepted Keyes request.

Several lawmakers also came out on Thursday calling on Netanyahu to suspend Keyes and investigate his actions.
