US Air Force Chief Celebrates ‘Interoperable’ Ties with Israel

US General David Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the US Airforce, over the weekend concluded a visit to Israel during which he met with Israel’s military leaders and with President Reuven Rivlin.

The American general was in Israel as part of the Blue Flag exercise held with the US Air Force and several other armies.

The Blue Flag 2019 included Germany, with the Eurofighter Typhoon, Italy with the F-35, Eurofighters and Gulfstream G-550, and Greece and the US with the F-16, a total of 70 aircraft and approximately 1,000 participants who took part in the widescale fighter exercise.

Goldfein visited the Israeli Air Force and was presented with the “Chief of General Staff” award by IDF Chief of Staff LTG Aviv Kohavi.

The US and Israel “enjoy a strong military partnership, built on trust developed over decades,” Goldfein said.

“What an honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with you and fly with the very best. Congrats on completing the most outstanding Blue Flag exercise to date. We truly are interoperable,” he added.

Terrorists Continue Their Fire on South, Despite Commencement of Ceasefire

Islamic Jihad terrorists continue to fire rockets on southern Israel, despite the commencement of a ceasefire at 5:30 am.

Multiple sirens were heard at locations surrounding the Gaza Strip.

The IDF has yet to respond.

Israeli Woman Injured by Rocket in Ashkelon

An Israeli woman, 65, was lightly injured on Wednesday afternoon when a rocket launched by Gazan terrorists at Ashkelon hit a building.

She was evacuated to a hospital with injuries caused by glass shared.

Since the beginning of the bombardment on Tuesday morning, the Gaza-based terrorists have launched over 300 rockets at Israel. Some 90% of the rockets that would have landed in populated areas were intercepted by the Iron Dome systems.

A total of 60% of the rockets exploded in open spaces, and dozens other exploded inside Gaza.

Rocket Hits Toy Factory in Sderot, Starts Fire

Gazan terrorists on Tuesday fired dozens of rockets at the south, one of which hit a factory in the town of Sderot and started a major fire at the plant.

Firefighting teams were deployed to the scene and worked to extinguish the blaze and minimize the damage to property.

No injuries were reported.

The Home Front Command ordered all schools and non-essential businesses closed and forbade gatherings of more than 100 people in the entire south of Israel.

IDF Strikes Islamic Jihad Terror Cell Preparing to Fire Rockets at Israel

The IDF targeted and killed two Islamic Jihad terrorists who were preparing to fire rockets at Israel from the northern Gaza Strip.

“The strike was carried out in order to remove an immediate security threat. A strike of the cell was confirmed,” an IDF spokesperson said.

Rockets continued to rain down on locations throughout Israel, mostly in the south. Over 50 rockets have been fired at Israel since this morning, and 20 were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense systems.
