Jerusalem, 1 July, 2019 (TPS) -- Sde Dov Airport, situated in north Tel Aviv, was shut down on Sunday night and concluded 81 years of service.

Flights to and from the airport are being rerouted to Ben Gurion Airport and the field will be developed into another neighborhood.

The airport was shut down amid controversy and some public protests. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the final decision to shut it down and vacate it in favor of real estate development.
