Jerusalem, 12 July, 2016 (TPS) -- The European Union (EU) harshly condemned Israel’s new ‘transparency law’, saying that it undermines Israel’s democracy and endangeres its shared values with Europe.

The ‘transparency law’, also known as the ‘NGO bill’, mandates NGO’s which receive more then half of their funding from foreign governments to file an annual report to the NGO Registrar, and include the information in their published reports. It passed its second and third readings in the Knesset on Monday by a margin of 57 supporters and 48 destractors.
