Weapons Seized, Suspects Arrested in Overnight Operations in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria

Jerusalem, 25 September, 2016 (TPS) -- Jerusalem Police operated overnight at the Shuafat Refugee Camp in Jerusalem and discovered illegal weapons including commando knives, axes and gun sights. Also caught were break-in tools, facemasks and computer systems designed to disable motorcycle lock mechanisms. Two suspects were detained for questioning.

The police said that the operation was a continuation of routine activities against terror, but that it was also part of the special preparation for the high holiday season.

In Judea and Samaria, IDF forces arrested five terror suspects during the night. Two of them were identified as Hamas members, while the rest are suspected of participating in riots dircted against Israeli civilians and security forces. They have been taken for questioning.
