Rally against the proposed changes to the legal system

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated outside the Knesset building in Jerusalem against the government's controversial judicial overhaul initiative. Protesters waving flags and chanting slogans filled the city's Government District. The mass protests escalated with nationwide strikes. Flights at Ben-Gurion Airport were grounded when workers went on strike. The strike spread to hospitals, which only provided emergency services. Malls and other small businesses shut their doors and colleges canceled classes. Employees of Israeli embassies also went on strike, suspending consular services. Demonstrations were also held in Tel Aviv, Haifa and other cities. A counter-demonstration in support of the government is due to be held outside the Knesset in the evening. Jerusalem, Mar 27, 2023.
