Rally for Kurdish Independence

A Jew of Kurdish origin holds posters with portraits of Masoud Barzani, Kurdish politician who has been President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region since 2005, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) since 1979. Jews of Kurdish origin assembled in Jerusalem’s Independence Park, calling for support for Kurdish Independence. The event organized by the National Organization of Kurdish Jews in Israel was held across the street from the American Consulate on the eve of Kurdistan’s referendum on independence.
