Israel Strikes Regrouping Hamas in Khan Yunis
Jerusalem, 24 July, 2024 (TPS) -- Israeli forces struck Hamas positions in Khan Yunis where the terror group is trying to regroup, the Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday.
Soldiers located several tunnels and killed numerous Hamas operatives in the southern Gaza city.
In one incident, soldiers directed a drone strike with tank fire on an armed Hamas squad spotted approaching their position in a vehicle, eliminating the gunmen.
Israeli forces withdrew from Khan Yunis in April.
Troops also carried out targeted raids on Hamas sites in the Rafah area, eliminating terrorists and seizing weapons.
The Air Force struck dozens of other Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets across Gaza, including observation posts, military structures, terrorists, and other assets.
At least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 116 remaining hostages, 44 have been confirmed dead.
