Israeli Demonstrators to Biden: ‘Let Us Win’

Politics By Gil Tanenbaum/TPS • 7 May, 2024

Jerusalem, 7 May, 2024 (TPS) -- Israelis held a demonstration Tuesday night in front of the US Embassy’s branch office in Tel Aviv, demanding that President Joe Biden do more to force Hamas to release the Israelis it has held hostage for seven months in Gaza. The demonstrators also called for the US to put pressure on the government of Qatar to cease its support for the Hamas terrorist organization and fort Biden to stop trying to limit Israel’s activities in Gaza.

The protest came one day after Hamas again refused the terms of a negotiated agreement for the release of the hostages, and the start of the Israeli military’s incursion into Gaza’s southernmost city, Rafah

The activists were spurred to demonstrate after weeks in which Biden said that he would not support an Israeli incursion into Rafah.

The demonstration came on the seven month anniversary of the Hamas terrorist massacre of October 7, 2023.

One of the people who spoke at the rally was Sarah Schwatrz. Her son was Segev Schwartz, an Israel Defense Forces infantry combat soldier who was killed on October 7 defending Kibbutz Sufa from Hamas terrorists.

Sarah spoke about how Segev saved the lives of his comrades by falling on a grenade thrown into a dining room by the terrorists.

“We are united, we are all one people in Israel. We support the idea of destroying Hamas and don’t let the propaganda of the Palestinians manipulate your way of thinking,” she told those assembled.

She added that Qatar provides Hamas with funding for its terror activities and called the Hamas attack a “jihad” being waged “in order to destroy Israel.”

Schwartz warned President Biden and the American people, “we are the first, but you will be the next. Remember that!”

“This is their agenda. This is their way of life,” she added. “How can you tell us not to destroy Hamas.”

Eli Lichtenberg, an IDF reservist who fought in Gaza and attended the demonstration described to TPS the Hamas propaganda he saw there including the educational materials uncovered that Hamas uses to teach children to hate Israel and to kill Israelis.

“They want to destroy all of us,” he said. “Not just Israel. Also the US and the entire West.”

“You are next in line,” he warned western countries.

“Let us win,” added Lichtenberg. “Let us destroy them. This is why I am here.”

“We will not stop until we win. I have a family. I served in Gaza. I will continue to serve in Gaza, wherever needed, as long as needed, until the end.”
