Security forces nab Nablus stabber

The Palestinian terrorist who stabbed a 32 year old IDF reservist soldier at a  bus stop near Nablus on Thursday afternoon was apprehended by security forces shortly before midnight. Following an intelligence tip-off, a Border Police counter terrorism unit arrested the 19-year-old suspect. Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman praised security forces for “outstanding intelligence work,”  adding that a further mission remained to catch the terrorist who shot dead two people at the Barkan industrial zone earlier this week.

 

IDF destroys Hamas cross-border tunnel

The IDF destroyed a cross border tunnel near Khan Younes in the northern Gaza Strip Thursday morning.  “We just destroyed a cross-border terror tunnel that infiltrated Israel from Gaza, built by Hamas with the aim of carrying out an attack on a nearby Israeli community. This is the 15th tunnel we’ve destroyed in the last year,” an IDF spokesman tweeted.

Incendiary balloons found in Jerusalem Park

Police and the explosives disposal unit were summoned to Emek HaMatzleva (the Valley of the Cross) Park in Jerusalem, following a report of incendiary balloons found in the area.

The balloons were found by a civilian who gathered the balloons and left the area before calling the police. Sappers collected the items and are conducting further searches.

On Wednesday, an incendiary balloon landed in a kindergarten construction site on Emek Refaim Street in Jerusalem’s German Colony.

IDF says no rockets launched from Gaza

The IDF has confirmed that there were no rocket launches identified from the Gaza Strip at Israeli territory on Thursday morning.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, the Iron Dome aerial defense system launched one interceptor following a false identification.

This comes after rocket alert sirens sounded across the Shaar HaNegev and Sedot Negev regions in southern Israel just after 10 a.m.

Rocket alert sirens were sounded across several communities in southern Israel.

The IDF Spokesperson said, that a red alert was activated in the regional councils of Shaar Hanegev and Sedot Negev and that details under review.

According to residents’ reports, two explosions were heard, which were apparently believed to be an interception.

This comes after the IDF closed several main roads along the Gaza border in southern Israel on Thursday morning due to a security situation.
