Israel Police declare lap dancing illegal
The Israel Police said Wednesday that lap dances in strip clubs would no longer be allowed as they fall under the legal definition of prostitution. The police said they will begin enforcing the new policy and that warning letters have been sent to strip club owners.
Bank of Israel keeps lending rate unchanged
The Bank of Israel kept its key interest rate unchanged at 0.1 percent on Tuesday, but hinted that after keeping the rate frozen for the past three-and-a-half years, an interest rate rise may be on the way. The BOI said it intends to maintain its accommodative policy as long as necessary in order to entrench the inflation environment within the target range. It noted however that the rise in the inflation environment continues and is moving toward entrenchment within the price stability target range.
Netanyahu Invites Incoming Australian PM to Visit Israel
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu wished incoming Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison success in his new position, during a phone call with his counterpart on Wednesday morning.
While speaking with Morrison, Netanyahu invited him and his wife to visit Israel and “its capital, Jerusalem.”
The leaders emphasized the excellent ties and close friendship between the two governments and its peoples. They agreed to also further strengthen relations in the security and economic sectors.
Man Wounded in Stoning Attack Near Tekoa
A stone-throwing attack near Tekoa in Gush Etzion has left one person lightly wounded.
The attack happened just after 8pm on Tuesday night. The man’s vehicle was reportedly damaged as well in the stoning.
Earlier in the evening, there were also reports of stoning attacks on Route 443 near the Maccabim Checkpoint. Damage was done to several cars, however, no one was injured.
Erdan: ‘Assad will pay the price for allowing Iran to stay in Syria’
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will soon realize the price for allowing Iran to stay in Syria, Homeland Security Minister Gilad Erdan told Ynet News on Tuesday morning.
“He will soon understand the price of Iran’s staying in Syrian territory,” said Erdan, adding that Israel ‘Will not allow that to happen.”
