Netanyahu Announces Minimum Wage Increase

Jerusalem, 20 June, 2016 (TPS) -- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also holds the portfolio of the Economy Ministry, announced that the minimum wage will be increased to NIS 4825 per month.

“This is the first social step upwards,” Netanyahu said, referring to an eventual additional increase in the minimum wage next year as well.

The increase to NIS 4825 is set to come into effect on July 1.
