Police Close Temple Mount to Jews, Palestinians Throw Rocks at Western Wall

The Jerusalem police has announced that the Temple Mount will be closed to Jews and to tourists until the end of the week, following clashes this week between the police and violent Muslim rioters on the mount who attempted to harm Jews at the holy site.

However, the Palestinians continued their violence even after this announcement, throwing rocks and other objects at police forces and at Jewish worshipers at the nearby Western Wall compound. A woman at the Western Wall was slightly wounded from the rock throwing and was treated at the scene by medical staff.

Member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah movement Sultan Abu Alainin, said in an interview to “Donia Alwatan that” if I see an Israeli, I’d slit his throat” and that “I’m against discussions, conversations, meetings and normalization of relations in any way with the Israeli occupation.”

Defense Minister Liberman To Oppose Reconciliation With Turkey

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, Chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party said that he will continue to oppose any reconciliation agreement with Turkey. Liberman conveyed this message to the families of the soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul, both of whom were soldiers who were killed in Operation Protective Edge and whose bodies likely remain in the hands of Hamas.

Three Palestinian Youths Arrested For Rioting on Temple Mount

Three Palestinian youths who threw stones at police on the Temple Mount, were arrested for rioting. The Temple Mount was closed yesterday to Israelis and tourists after Muslims rioted at the site.

Justice Minister Shaked: Annex Area C of Judea and Samaria

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home)  said that Israel should annex Area C of Judea and Samaria, which includes territories distinctly controlled by Israel and not the Palestinian Authority, during a discussion at the Knesset on Monday afternoon.

“Close to 100,000 Arabs live there who need to receive rights,” the Justice Minister continued. “We have to absorb them and live with them together in peace.”
