Yulia Malinovsky of the Yisrael Beiteinu party was sworn in today as the newest member of Knesset, filling the seat of newly appointed Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman. Malinovsky is the 33rd woman to serve in the Knesset, setting a new record for female representation.

Jerusalem Day March Adjusts Schedule To Fit With Muslim Ramadan Holiday

In light of security precuations with Jerusalem Day celebrations occurring right before the start of the Ramadan holiday, Jerusalem Day marchers will not be able to enter the Muslim Quarter past 7 PM.

The route of the march goes through the Muslim Quarter’s Damascus Gate straight to the Western Wall plaza.

Netanyahu Rejects Creation of Working Groups To Determine Israel’s Interests

Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected a proposal discussed in the French Initiative conference this past Friday, to establish working groups that would define Israel’s interests in a final two-state arrangement for Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Netanyahu told French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault that “only the state of Israel should be concerned for Israel’s security.”
