Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz (Likud) confirmed to Israel’s Channel 10 that a reconciliation agreement between Turkey and Israel is expected to be reached in the coming days, with approximately 95% of the agreement’s details having been concluded already.

Two Men in Haifa Region Arrested on Drug Charges

Police arrested a man from Haifa and another man from the nearby town of Tirat Carmel on suspicion of of possessing the hashish drug. The total weight of the hashish drug hidden in bags of chocolate was 3.5 kilograms.

The two suspects will be brought to Haifa Magistrate’s Court later today for a hearing on the police’s request to extend their period of arrest.

Suspect in Palestinian Town Arrested For Running Car Theft Operation

Border Police and IDF forces arrested a suspect overnight in the Palestinian town of Kalkilia located in western Samaria. The suspect is charged with heading an operation responsible for dozens of car thefts in Samaria, Judea and the rest of Israel.

Right-Wing Activist Meir Ettinger Released from Administrative Detention

Right-wing activist Meir Ettinger has been released after ten months under administrative detention. He still has severe restrictions imposed upon him under administrative orders: He will not be allowed into Judea and Samaria for one year, will be forbidden from entering Jerusalem for half a year, he will be under house arrest during night-time for three months, and he is not allowed to make contact with 92 people.

 

33 Arabs Arrested in Law Enforcement Campaign in Eastern Jerusalem, Policeman Wounded

The Jerusalem Police are conducting a campaign of arrests and law enforcement operations in the Arab neighborhoods of A-Tur and Al-Sawana. During the night, 33 residents were arrested for offenses such as participating in violent riots, terrorist activities, smuggling weapons, and drug sales. Eight more suspects have been summoned for questioning.

During the operation, a policeman was attacked by an Arab resident and required medical treatment. The attacker was arrested.

A police statement said the law enforcement campaign is meant to improve the eastern part of Jerusalem and turn it into a place that encourages respect for the law and economic and social growth.
