Ahmad Manasra, the 13-year-old Palestinian who committed a stabbing attack in the Pisgat Ze’ev neighborhood in Jerusalem, has been convicted of two counts of attempted murder.

Manasra committed the attack in October 2015 with his 15-year-old cousin Hasan, who was subsequently killed by police forces. The two stabbed and critically wounded 13-year-old Naor Shalev, as well as a 21-year-old man.

The attack made international headlines when Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas falsely accused Israel of “executing” Ahmad Manasra, while he was in fact alive and being treated at an Israeli hospital. He was neutralized and seriously wounded by police fire during the attack, and was then treated and taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. This led Prime Minister Netanyahu to accuse Abbas of incitement.
